Ve'ahavta
In the heart of the old market in Afula, a ' Ve'ahavta ' complex was established in 2018 – an art gallery with an open performance space born out of a joint initiative of the Artists' Kibbutz in Afula together with artists and entrepreneurs from the local artist community. 'Ve'ahavta ' was created with the intention of renovating and rehabilitating the market complex, which until the establishment of 'Ve'ahavta', was a dangerous, neglected and crime ridden area. Following the artists' activities in the complex, the market's image was restored, new local businesses were established in the market, and the Afula municipality decided to invest in the extensive restoration of the market infrastructure. Today, it is visited by thousands of visitors every month, and is a magnet for culture and business in the city.
